We hope you have managed to cope during the recent heat wave. The church remained comfortably cool throughout. You are warmly invited to join us this week as we celebrate the sixth Sunday after Trinity, in Ordinary Time.

you made us all in your image:

Readings

Genesis 18.20-32, Psalm 138, Colossians 2.6-15[16-19], Luke 11.1-13

Sea Lights meets in the hall this week. New children are always welcome. This is the final session for the summer.

Children’s Holiday Club – run in partnership with St Mary de Haura 22nd August to 25th August 9.15am to 12.30am. Church of the Good Shepherd Hall. For children from year 1 to year 6.

Children’s Mornings These take place over the summer with Daisy at the church. No need to book. Free, but donations welcome.

 

Friday meditation with morning prayer - summer season We will have a summer outdoor season meeting in the Good Shepherd vicarage garden Friday 5th, 12th and 19th August (not at St Mary de Haura). We will meet inside the Good Shepherd if it’s raining. Let’s hope we can experience the joys of outdoor contemplation in August. New people always welcome to join.

Shoreline A new issue is being emailed out this week. Paper copies will be available next week in the porch. Thanks to Adam and all contributors.

Painting the church hall The churchwardens are hoping to arrange a volunteer team to paint the inside of the hall during the month of August. If you would like to help, please speak to Kay or Angela.

Taizé for Healing, 7th August, 6pm.

 

And finally…

It was a joy to have the Vivace choir singing at the church last Saturday. Pimms and strawberries with cream were an extra delight. Thank you to Hilary for organising this event, and all her helpers. It raised £346.84 for church funds!

Blessings and prayers for you all this week. I work half-time and the days I am usually available are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday (morning).
